Co-founder of the company and responsible for the commercial area. Specialised in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Analysis, he has extensive experience in the production of thematic cartography applied to environmental impact studies, with a focus on civil infrastructure and energy projects. He has taken part in reference projects in Portugal and several African countries, ensuring rigorous technical solutions that are adjusted to local contexts. He also collaborates on the drafting of land use planning instruments, including municipal master plans, urbanisation plans, detailed plans and river basin plans.

She has a degree in Biology and a master's degree in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management, both from the University of Aveiro. She is interested in ecology, habitat management and impact assessment. In terms of ecological groups, she has experience in vertebrates, especially mammals, and invertebrates, especially lepidoptera and odonata, as well as flora and vegetation. Over the course of her 17 years of experience in environmental consultancy, she has worked on more than 150 EIA processes and more than 50 ecological monitoring projects, mainly renewable energy projects. Having worked in Portugal, she also has experience in Africa, namely South Africa, Mozambique, Angola and Cape Verde. Training in River Habitat Survey, Marine Mammals Observation and Passive Acoustic Monitoring.

Biologist by training, ornithologist at heart. He has been part of the Sobral & Monteiro team since March 2023, within the bird monitoring team, mainly working on environmental projects in the photovoltaic and wind energy sectors. He has professional technical experience in beekeeping and pollinators, bird identification and monitoring on land and at sea, as well as outside Europe, and off-road driving. His mission is to ensure the execution of all monitoring activities, their processing and planning.

In addition to avifauna, he also takes part in coordinating and managing Sobral & Monteiro's vehicle fleet, installing bat detectors on meteorological towers and other high-altitude work. He is also involved in monitoring terrestrial mammals, bats and herpetofauna.

Since completing her degree in Biology at the University of Aveiro in 2011, she has been working in the field of Environmental Consulting, especially in the Post-Assessment phase of projects, including the design and implementation of compensatory measures. She joined Sobral & Monteiro Consulting in 2021 where she has been developing her skills in environmental impact assessment, having already participated in more than 100 studies for wind farms, photovoltaic plants, power lines, among others.

She has a degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro, where she also completed a master's degree in Applied Ecology, focusing her research on the variation in the vocal repertoire of red-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) populations in Portugal.

She has collaborated with various institutions on volunteer projects, gaining experience in methodologies for the conservation and monitoring of avifauna, chiroptera and the control of invasive species.

In 2018, she began her professional activity as an external technician, dedicated to prospecting for mortality in wind farms and monitoring avifauna and chiroptera. Since 2021, she has collaborated with Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, where she has worked in the field of bird monitoring. At the same time, she has participated in projects to monitor other wildlife groups, including mammals, using methods such as photo-trapping, transects and acoustic monitoring.

Technical Consultant, Data Analyst and Coordinator. With a degree in Biology and an MSc in Applied Ecology from the University of East Anglia, he complemented his academic career with an intensive bootcamp in Data Science at Le Wagon. In this context, he developed advanced skills in statistics, data modelling and machine learning, applying these tools to environmental analysis.

He acts as a link between field teams and technical teams, ensuring that the data collected in monitoring projects is processed rigorously and transformed into useful information for informed environmental decisions. At Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, he contributes to the development of innovative approaches that integrate technology, data science and biodiversity conservation.

Author of more than 15 scientific publications, he specialises in the study and monitoring of bats (Chiroptera), with a strong focus on bioacoustics. In addition to this specialisation, he has solid experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), species distribution modelling, bat capture and monitoring, as well as the processing of biological samples.

Throughout his career, he has participated in and led several Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects in Portugal and Ireland, covering dams, wind farms, highways and transmission lines.

With extensive experience in Portugal and abroad, he joined the Sobral & Monteiro team in 2024.

He graduated in Biology-Geology from the University of Minho (Portugal), where he also completed a master's degree in Ecology, focusing on the impact of small dams on bat populations. Later, he carried out a postdoctoral project at the world's largest iron mine in Carajás, Brazil, where he characterised the vocalizations of Amazonian bats and proposed new mitigation plans for mining activities.

Graduated in Geological Engineering from the University of Aveiro, she has a particular interest in the fields of quality and logistics, as well as in management involving people.

She began her career in the area of Quality and Environmental Management Systems, joining the team responsible for the development and implementation of systems in a company dedicated to the production of wood derivatives.
Later, her professional path shifted towards the environmental and waste management sector. In 2025, she joined the team at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting with the aim of implementing organisational and logistical management methodologies focused on process optimisation and continuous operational improvement.

Environmental Consultant with a background in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. His career in the environmental field began with an internship at SIVA (a member of Porsche Holding), where he was involved in projects related to waste management, energy efficiency, CO2 calculations and compliance with environmental regulations.

After working as Sustainability Manager at NOS SGPS, where he was responsible for ESG issues related to buildings and electric mobility, he joined the team at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, where he works as an Environmental Consultant. He has experience in preparing Environmental Impact Studies, new business development and fieldwork.

He holds a degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro and a Master’s degree in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Coimbra. From an early age, he showed an interest in both areas, but is currently more dedicated to biology, both professionally and in terms of his hobbies. His internship at CERVAS, regular bird watching in Portugal and abroad, and his credential as a bird ringer (trainee) have allowed him to cultivate his interest and gain experience with birdlife, while also acquiring a good general knowledge of other animal groups. At Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, he performs all kinds of fieldwork, including bird listening points, transects for detecting reptiles, amphibians and mammals, tree surveys and handling audiomoths and camera traps. He also has training in Marine Mammals Observation and Wild and Exotic Animal Handling.

She has a degree in Biology and a master's degree in Biological Resources, Territorial Enhancement and Sustainability from the University of Coimbra. Her career at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting began with a master's degree internship in 2023. Since then, she has collaborated on a wide variety of fieldwork related to biodiversity monitoring, data analysis and writing monitoring reports and environmental impact studies. Highlights of her career include technical support in photo-trapping, preparing scientific studies with internal data for congresses and logistical collaboration with the bat team.

Field biologist and member of the bird monitoring team, working mainly on environmental projects in the photovoltaic and wind sectors. His mission is to ensure the accurate collection of ecological data that contributes to sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. As well as birdlife, he also collaborates in monitoring terrestrial mammals, chiroptera, herpetofauna and flora, always trying to combine technical knowledge with ecological sensitivity. In the field, he believes in the importance of detailed observation, patience and deep respect for nature – principles that guide his work on a daily basis.

She has a degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Ecology and Environmental Management from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. She joined the Environment team at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting in 2024, mainly to prepare Environmental Impact Studies in their entirety, being responsible for the construction of the entire report and the development of various descriptors, such as Ecology, Climate and climate change, Socio-economics and Human Health, as well as the Land Use Planning component.

During her time at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, she began to carry out Environmental Monitoring of Construction Work, having monitored part of the construction of the Pereiro Photovoltaic Plant (Phase II) and is currently monitoring the re-equipment of the Picos Verdes II Wind Farm. In addition, she also helps with monitoring and sampling of various wildlife groups in the field and drafting various technical reports.

Ornithologist with a Master's degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution. He began his professional activity in an ecological restoration project in the cross-border region of Beira Alta, where he worked on monitoring various wildlife groups, with a special focus on photo-trapping techniques for mammals. Later, he joined the LIFE LupiLynx project team, where he applied methodologies to estimate the population abundance of wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and red partridges (Alectoris rufa) in the Castelo Branco and Guarda regions. As part of this project, he developed GIS skills for both sample planning and the spatial presentation of results.

In 2024, he began working with Sobral & Monteiro Consulting as an external technician, supporting bird and chiropteran monitoring work. In February 2025, he officially joined the company as an ornithologist trainee, with an interest in optimising environmental consultancy based on technological tools.

With a degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Animal Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, she joined the Sobral & Monteiro Consulting team in January 2025. She is currently responsible for the biological monitoring of the construction contract for the Pranto Right Adductor, the Marnoto Distributor and the Quinta do Seminário Hydraulic Circuit. She also takes part in various environmental monitoring projects, with a special focus on birdlife, an area that has always fascinated her.

Before joining the company, she worked in wildlife rehabilitation centres, an experience that strengthened her technical knowledge and deepened her connection to animal welfare.

With a degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro and a Master's degree in Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of Lisbon, she has experience in the study of cave entomofauna, acquired through collaboration with the Subterranean Ecology group (CE3C) and prestigious institutions such as the National Museum of Natural History and Science and the Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart. She has worked on curating entomological collections and sampling subterranean invertebrates, particularly using pitfall traps.

In the field of environmental consultancy, she has been part of technical teams at Nemus and, currently, at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, where she has gained experience in carrying out Environmental Impact Studies in Portugal and Angola, as well as in acoustic monitoring of bats (using active and passive methodologies) and in prospecting for shelters. She is a Level 3 speleologist, certified by the Portuguese Speleology Federation (FPE/APD), and actively participates in associations such as the Association for Underground Studies and Environmental Defense (AESDA), the Espeleo Clube de Torres Vedras (E.C.T.V.) and the Aveiro Speleology and Mountain Group (GEMA).

Biologist with experience in fieldwork and data processing linked to herpetological studies, he has particular expertise in the identification of faunal remains (post-mortem, roadkill) and the capture and containment of fauna with funnel traps and pitfalls. Graduated from the University of Aveiro in Biology.
He recently joined Sobral & Monteiro Consulting's Data team and is responsible both for managing data entry via the ODK platform and for developing the forms used in the field. He also participates in fieldwork on a regular basis.

Graduated in Biology from the University of Aveiro in 2022 and holds a Master's degree in Ecology from the University of Coimbra in 2025. His academic career has been marked by the study of floristic diversity and plant ecology.

As a technician at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, he has been characterising the flora of the various projects underway, as well as surveying RELAPE, exotic and invasive species at the study sites. In addition to the botanical component, he has also provided support in various types of sampling for monitoring chiroptera, mammals and birds.

Biologist with a special interest in ecological modelling, landscape connectivity and spatial-temporal data processing. He has a PhD from the University of Évora and has worked on various biodiversity conservation projects and environmental impact studies.

Throughout his professional career, he has specialised in monitoring herpetofauna, as well as geographic information systems and remote sensing. He has published several scientific articles and collaborated with various organisations. He is a founding member and chairman of the supervisory board of the Portuguese Herpetological Association.

At Sobral & Monteiro Consulting he is responsible for processing and analysing geographic data, as well as database management.

Having always been passionate about mammals, she graduated in Biology from the University of Yazd (Iran) in 2010, having participated in various research and environmental education projects at the Iranian Cheetah Society (ICS), with a focus on carnivore conservation.

In 2015, she obtained a master's degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Lisbon, specialising in conservation genetics, having developed the thesis "Conservation Biology of the Caracal (Caracal caracal) in Iran: Action Plan and Conservation Genetics" and carried out an internship at the Associação de Defesa do Património de Mértola (ADPM).

Since 2025, she has been a member of the Sobral & Monteiro Consulting team, where she has taken part in various fieldwork projects, especially collecting and analysing data on mammals and birds.

He has a degree in Biology and a master's degree in Applied Ecology, both from the University of Aveiro. He is interested in ecology and habitat restoration, with a special interest in ornithology — both in birdwatching and identification, as well as in scientific bird ringing. He spent a year in Greece as part of the European volunteer programme in Dadia National Park, where he monitored birds of prey and built shelters for birdlife. Joined Sobral & Monteiro Consulting in 2024 as part of a master's degree curricular internship. Since then, they have participated in various fieldwork activities related to biodiversity monitoring, also collaborating in data analysis and the preparation of environmental reports. Currently, their activity focuses primarily on the preparation of environmental reports and technical documentation, including mainly monitoring reports and the Ecology descriptor in Environmental Impact Assessments.

She holds a degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Ecology from the University of Coimbra. During her master's degree she carried out data analysis on seed dispersal by various vectors in a burnt area. Throughout her academic career she developed a particular interest in the study of birds, having begun training in Scientific Bird Ringing and completed training in Bird Observation, Study and Conservation at the University of Aveiro.

In early 2026, she joined the Sobral & Monteiro Consulting team as an ornithologist trainee. Her main role is bird monitoring, primarily in environmental projects in the photovoltaic and wind energy sectors, and she also collaborates in data collection for the monitoring of chiroptera and mammals.

He holds a degree in Biology and is in the final stages of completing a Master's degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution. His focus is primarily on the characterisation and monitoring of biodiversity as a whole, with a particular interest in flora and vegetation, but also in avifauna. From early in his academic career, his studies were accompanied in parallel by technical fieldwork in the context of environmental impact studies and assessments.
He has experience in floristic surveys, with a focus on RELAPE species, as well as in vegetation and habitat mapping using GIS. He has also carried out technical work related to fauna, particularly avifauna, conducting various monitoring activities through diurnal and nocturnal bird listening points, as well as transects for waders and birds of prey.
He also has experience in herpetofauna monitoring, as well as mammal monitoring through camera trapping. He is a member of the flora and vegetation technical team.

Holds a degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a master's degree in Design for Sustainability from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
Has participated in several research projects involving soil characterization, ecosystem monitoring, and support for the implementation of renaturalization and ecological restoration actions. Has experience in fieldwork, as well as in the collection and analysis of environmental data. Notable is his recent experience as a fisheries observer in the Azores, with onboard data collection and marine megafauna monitoring.
Currently undertaking an internship at Sobral & Monteiro Consulting, develops work in the area of flora characterization and mammal monitoring.

He holds a degree in Applied Mathematics for Economics and Management from ISEG and a Master's in Data Science and Advanced Analytics from Nova IMS, specialising in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and scalable cloud infrastructure. He has developed real-time data pipelines and complex predictive models, notably integrating OpenAI Whisper for processing and transcribing audio signal in fractions of a second, as well as solutions based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). At Sobral & Monteiro Consulting he is part of the Bioacoustics project, applying Machine Learning and audio signal processing to biodiversity monitoring and conservation. Outside of work, he keeps a small nursery and maintains a close connection to nature and ecosystems.

He holds a degree in Biology from the University of Évora, with complementary training in Marine Biology from the University of the Algarve, and a Master's degree in Management and Conservation of Natural Resources from the University of Lisbon. His main area of research focuses on Wildlife Ecology, with specialisation in the study and application of advanced methodologies for estimating population parameters in mammals, regularly taking part in deer censuses in Portugal. He collaborated on the high-profile international project European Observatory of Wildlife and has developed projects in partnership with organisations and research institutes such as the Safari Club International and the Institute for Game and Wildlife Research. He is the author and co-author of scientific publications, notably in the journal BioScience (Oxford University Press). He is a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Wildlife Surveillance Society (WAVES), actively participating in Iberian congresses, with a special focus on the Iberian Wild Ungulates Meeting (RUSI).

Despite his adaptability on land, he is a diver and explores the freshwater of Portugal's great rivers such as the Sabor, although he spends most of his time swimming in the salt water of this Blue Planet. He uses his experience to produce audiovisual content aimed at raising public awareness for the protection and appreciation of aquatic biodiversity, both nationally and worldwide.
