Flora and Habitat Monitoring in the Fátima Quarry
Since 2020, we have been monitoring flora and habitats of community interest in a quarry in the Fátima area. Regarding the habitats of community interest, we monitored the evolution of vegetation throughout the various phases of the project. We surveyed and monitored Arabis sadina stands in the area surrounding the quarry. We surveyed orchid species in the quarry expansion area. Once the areas where these species were present were identified, they were demarcated, and the orchid specimens and limestone slabs where they were found were collected. The collected material was relocated to a nearby area, and monitoring of the translocated stands is ongoing.
