Monitoring of surface water bodies

We implement Water Framework Directive (WFD) protocols for the biological elements ichthyofauna, phytobenthos, macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, and phytoplankton (applicable only to reservoirs). We have technicians certified to apply the River Habitat Survey (RHS) method and calculate associated metrics.

Our services include:

• Sampling of phytobenthos and macroinvertebrates;
• Ichthyofauna sampling using electric fishing and nets, in lotic and lentic environments;
• Macrophyte sampling;
• Phytoplankton sampling in reservoirs;
• Application of the River Habitat Survey (RHS) method;
• Application of indexes to assess the status of water bodies in accordance with the WFD.
