Bird monitoring
We have a specialized team of ornithologists with skills in identifying different groups of birds (e.g. steppe birds, diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, aquatic birds, marine birds, etc.).
We implement several sampling methodologies aimed at birds: censuses based on fixed listening and observation points and/or transects, observation points for birds of prey and other soaring birds, the map method, prospecting for nests and/or feeding sites for protected birds, fixed listening and calling points for nocturnal birds, and fixed points for monitoring nests.
Our services include:
- Characterization of bird communities and identification of species, using various methodologies (bird censuses, listening, radar studies, etc.);
- Mortality prospecting and mortality correction factors;
- Assessment of the reproductive success of protected species;
- Prospecting and monitoring of nests;
- Preparation of monitoring plans;
- Preparation of impact assessment and monitoring reports;
- Planning of minimization and compensation measures for birds (e.g. habitat management, promotion of prey species).
